NBC is a leading provider of television shows throughout the United States, and now they have their own app to improve your viewing experience. The app provides access to all of your favourite NBC shows, plus your local station of choice, and it adds a few extra frills, too: a TV guide, Chromecast to send shows from your phone to a television, and a bit more.
Swift As Can Be
To view your local station, and often to view programming, you need to log in with information from your cable provider. This isn't too bad, but on 3G networks (which the NBC app otherwise supports) it can be cumbersome. Once you're logged in, all of the features work well, from on-phone playback to Chromecast. The TV guide helps to find good programming to stream.
As On The Big Screen, As On The Little Screen
Overall, NBC provides a very solid app with its offering, one that can either enhance or supplant your existing cable subscription at your leisure. Bring your favourite shows to a house that doesn't have them, and beam them onto the big screen, or watch as you travel from place to place. If you already have a television subscription and a phone that works with this app, there's no reason not to pick it up. At the very least, it might save you from a spot of boredom.
